Harris Corporation to Demonstrate AV Solutions at InfoComm 2010

DENVER, June 8, 2010 — Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, will demonstrate an array of innovative digital AV (audio/video) solutions at InfoComm 2010, taking place June 9-11 at the Las Vegas Convention Center (Booth # N2351).

Combining its market-leading broadcast and IT technology, Harris provides powerful AV solutions for markets such as retail, restaurants, stadiums and arenas, educational and government institutions, corporations and others — enabling them to implement efficient media workflows that create potential new revenue streams.  Harris will display the following solutions at InfoComm 2010:

Digital Signage/Digital Out-of-Home
Comprising the Harris® InfoCaster digital signage system and the Punctuate business and advertising management application, the Harris digital out-of-home offering enables users to ingest, schedule and distribute dynamic, targeted content.  Three new InfoCaster hardware platforms are available that deliver smaller, more cost-efficient form factors, yet are packed with power and functionality.  The new designs range from tabletop mount (DS500, with a single HDMI output) to rack/wall-mount versions (DS1100 with dual DVI outputs and 2RU DS4100 with quad-channel outputs).  The InfoCaster system can scale to provide solutions from single-display digital signage to enterprise-wide networks encompassing large numbers of locations.  Each screen is individually programmable and targetable to tailor media campaigns and maximize advertising revenues.

Harris is a sponsor of a two-day digital signage conference during InfoComm.  Digital Signage authority and InfoComm Academy Faculty member Lyle Bunn and Mike Bernhardt, Harris Broadcast Communications, are among this year’s presenters.  Sessions include digital signage fundamentals, along with case studies of digital signage implementations, and a workshop for business owners considering digital signage.  Harris also is a sponsor in the Digital Signage Application Showcase, which will feature simulated, real-world digital signage areas.  Harris will demonstrate a sports/live event venue solution, illustrating how Harris digital out-of-home solutions can drive venue revenue by providing fans with access to information, merchandise and services.

Production Playout Center

Harris will demonstrate its Production Playout Center, a multichannel ingest and playback system that adds functionality to Harris NEXIO AMP® and NEXIO Volt servers by enabling the playout of high-definition video to every screen in the sports venue and the creation of stunning slow-motion instant replays.  The Production Playout Center comprises five software modules that fit into a variety of environments, including sports arenas/stadiums, on-the-fly live productions and newsroom sports segments.

Solution Suite for Sports Teams, Venue Owners

The new Harris suite of solutions and services for sports venues supports nearly every aspect of sports and live event technology management and fan-experience enhancement.  The suite includes solutions for digital signage, mobile video, production, network design/deployment, and single-source technology management partnering.  It leverages Harris IT Services for 24×7 technical support and troubleshooting.  The suite also can include the advanced Harris public safety and security solution, which supports some of the world’s most mission-critical environments.

Multiviewers and Graphics

Harris will showcase the Predator II-GX multiviewer — an award-winning, control and monitoring solution that delivers high-end features at an excellent price point.  The Predator-II GX offers the ability to add extra input cards for future expansion needs; and an optional DVI-I input card, allowing PCs or test equipment sources to be displayed alongside the video inputs.  The Predator II-GX series also offers the new graphics model — these DVI-I-only input multiviewers enable a user to monitor 4, 8, 12 or 16 DVI-I sources over two displays.  Visitors to the Harris booth also can see the budget-friendly, feature-rich Inscriber TitleOne XT character generator, which is available as an SD-only or SD/HD-switchable solution.

Test and Measurement

Harris will demonstrate the latest solutions from its Videotek® Compact Monitor series.  Visitors to InfoComm can see a preview of the new CVM-306 multiformat signal analyzer, featuring integrated video/audio signal monitoring in an affordable, compact package.  Three versions are available: SD, HD/SD and 3 Gb/s/HD/SD. All three possess two SDI inputs, and selectable waveform, vector, gamut, timing and full-screen picture display.

Harris also will demo the new CMN-LA loudness analyzer, a comprehensive audio measurement instrument made for content producers and distributors seeking to verify program integrity.  The CMN-LA loudness analyzer incorporates the TC Electronic-created radar display, which shows loudness on short-terms meters, graphs covering periods from one minute to 24 hours, and numeric display of the long-term center of gravity (average loudness) and consistency (loudness range).  Also on the Harris booth will be the CMN-41 and the CMN-91 models for testing signal integrity across all DTV broadcast signal formats up to 3 Gb/s.
